Child Find
Child Find is a service that we offer each school district. Within PVREC, child find is more than the traditional 3 & 4 year old screening and placement. We provide child find services for children birth through 21 which envelops the Family Infant and Toddler program, and each school districts' special education program.
• At the early childhood level, we screen children within community screening clinics, head start programs located in each district, and children who are referred by parents, friends, and relatives. If a concern is found that would require special education intervention, the child is referred for testing and possible placement in special education.
• At the school age level, Student Assistance Team (SAT) referrals for special education testing are sent to PVREC and given to evaluators for testing. After testing is complete, IEP teams meet to determine if the student is eligible for and needs special education interventions. We have a comprehensive team of qualified evaluators who are able to assist in the identification of children who are eligible for and need special education services.
