Transition

The Transition Coordinator works with special education students, 16 years and older. The coordinator implements services within the school system to help students establish post high school goals and refers to post school adult service providers to reach those goals. Coordinated services could include school instruction, community experience, employment services, post school adult options, daily living skills and vocational education. The transition coordinator participates in the IEP meetings, as requested, to provide advice and assistance for transition planning. Work experience is funded by the WIA (Workforce Investment Act, formally JTPA (Job Training Partnership Act).
